Regtick News Update

Hi All –

Thanks so much for all your words of congratulations on my new role… Sometimes a one-line change in a job title on LinkedIn doesn’t provide the full picture, so I thought I’d put a brief update together on what this means for our plans for growth at Regtick in the years to come.

As some of you know, the idea for Regtick was born many years ago during my consultancy days, having seen many organisations impeded by the same regulatory compliance challenges. With those early ambitious designs for the Regtick solution (think ‘Minority Report’ as the starting point for the User Interface!), we realised we needed to wait until technology 'UX' had moved forward sufficiently so that we could make compliance processes as visual and simple as possible.

Visual simplicity is a key success criterion for us and is one of our core USPs / differentiators. As we engineered and built out the Regtick platform, we incorporated cutting-edge technologies and UX standards but also built our own where we couldn't find the existing technology we needed.

As Steve Jobs once said, ‘Simple can be harder than complex: You have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple. But it’s worth it in the end because once you get there, you can move mountains”

For us, the key area of simplicity is the user experience. We wanted to create a platform that was so simple and intuitive to use so that anybody within an organisation can feel comfortable and empowered to use the platform In order to manage their governance, risk and compliance activity.

Our journey.

Having founded Regtick along with Gary Lyons, in a short period of time, we have taken what was an idea, through to design, then initial proof of concept, followed by a functioning prototype into a fully proven, commercial product which has solved key regulatory challenges for our customers. All along this build-measure-learn journey we have been iterating and refining the platform along our guiding principle of creating a simple clear path to compliance.

To this end, I am grateful for all the meetings, demos, trials, feedback and insights that so many people provide which we incorporate into the continuous refinement of the Regtick SaaS solution.

Our journey over the last two years has taken us from Downing Street to the Whitehouse; as far east as New Zealand to the West Coast of Canada; from Regulators to the Regulated; From financial services to health care and beyond. All the while we have been listening and incorporating your needs into our Software as a Service SaaS solution. (We have picked up a few awards along the way too – thank you to those who nominated us and took the time to evaluate our solution).

As we continue to scale the solution (someone said hyperscale – if that’s a thing, then that’s us!) we have been on the lookout for the right people who share the same values and vision to help drive the Regtick mission forward. We are grateful for Tom O'Gorman's investment and continued corporate leadership as chairman of Regtick. Tom’s proven track record of commercial success and support for Regtick’s ambition has been instrumental this year.

You’ll have seen separate announcements over the last few weeks on new joiners to the Regtick management team.

Firstly, Ray Connolly has joined the Regtick Rocket to lead our Sales team. Ray’s extensive experience in the software and regulatory technology sectors, as well as his proven track record in securing global revenue growth, is a perfect fit for Regtick’s expansion. Ray is an all-round awesome guy, and, I’m not just saying this, but I strongly recommend reaching out to Ray to find out more about him and his role. You’ll thoroughly enjoy meeting with him!

Secondly, we are thrilled to formally announce that Adrian Hall has joined as CTO. I know that many of you who have had the opportunity to work with/for Adrian over the years will appreciate how fortunate we are to secure someone of Adrian’s technical calibre and leadership talent. For those of you who have yet to meet Adrian, then all I can say is that Adrian has the unique blend of experience which is perfectly suited for Regtick: From architecting and enabling technology solutions for niche SaaS companies right up to enterprise banking clients. With his oversight, the multi-tenancy, micro-services architecture that underpins Regtick seamlessly services our clients' needs.

With Adrian taking over the reins as CTO, it means that I can dedicate my role towards managing the growth of Regtick from a product perspective. I’ll share more on this in the next few weeks, but my key areas of continued focus will be on:

  • Customer Driven Development - understanding new and common challenges and harmonising the design of the Regtick platform to meet new needs

  • User Experience – how we can continue to incorporate new visual and immersive ways of simplifying complex tasks to reduce the cost and risk of non-compliance.

  • Partnerships and alliances – extending our ecosystem of technical and consultancy partners, using Regtick as the digital thread that brings distributed teams together.

  • Analytics – using Regtick’s in-built analytics engine with artificial intelligence and Machine Learning to drive efficiencies within and across our user base.

I'm really excited about these new challenges and the opportunity to continue the product-led growth of Regtick.

Finally, from me and on behalf of the Regtick Management Team, thank you again for the help and support you have given to us to date, we look forward to continuing the journey with you and for you through the years to come.

With best wishes,

Gerry
